Ever Faithful - a history of St. John’s United Church

A history of St. John's United Church, formerly the Oakville Methodist Church, has been written by Joyce Stephenson, a member of the church for 40 years. In "Ever Faithful", Joyce has covered in detail the 175-year history of the church dating back to 1832.

Intertwined with the history of the church is the history of the early Nelson Circuit of Methodist churches and the Town of Oakville. A wealth of stories and pictures are melded into one story, the story of how a community of faith, deeply rooted in the Town of Oakville, has lived for the past 175 years.

The people whose names are inscribed on plaques around town, and whose actions are recorded at meetings held long ago, vibrate with life and laughter, with joys and struggles.
